My younger brother just came back from Japan last Friday. Then he made a last minute staycation plan in Kuala Lumpur for one night. I didn't plan on joining him at first but since my husband was also going to the office on Monday and I would be home alone until Tuesday, I thought I would just jump in the bandwagon. We decided to stay at the Park Royal Collection again this time. He was lucky that his room had been upgraded to a lifestyle room. It was spacious!
After checking in, Mizan and I went to Pavilion to visit the Summer in Dior pop up. They are currently promoting one of the fragrances from La Collection Privee, the Dioriviera. If you like fruity floral scents, this one is definitely for you. What I love about Dioriviera is that the nose behind this fragrance is the legendary man himself, Sir Francis Kurkdjian. He was also the perfumer of Burberry Her. I immediately fell head over heels in love with the perfume after testing it once while I was on vacation in Melbourne, and yes, I decided to buy it then and there. Last year, I added another one of his famous perfumes from the Maison Francis Kurkdjian collection — the Baccarat Rouge 540. The notes are quite similar to the Burberry Her perfume so if you are interested but also on the budget, you can opt for the Burberry one. Knowing how experienced he is, trust me, you will not be disappointed with Dioriviera.
Mizan and I are a fan of La Collection Privee Christian Dior. He got hooked from the first time he tried the Oud Rosewood fragrance. If you are thinking of buying yourself a fragrance from LCP and have no idea which one to choose, I will help you decide by recommending you the top 5 of my favourite fragrances from this collection.
5. Rose Kabuki
Launched in 2018, the main accords of Rose Kabuki are rose, aquatic and musky. The nose behind this fragrance is Francois Demachy. If you love light florals scent, I would highly suggest you to try this fragrance. The smell is not too strong and suitable for day wear.
4. Oud Rosewood
This is definitely one of my favourites from the oriental range. It screams old money for sure! The main accords of this fragrance are woody, oud and fruity with a little bit of sweetness in it. If you like stronger smell, I highly recommend you to try the Oud Ispahan.
3. Eden Roc
Sensual scent and one of the bestsellers from its range! The Eden Roc is a woody floral fragrance that was inspired by a hotel located along the French Riviera. The main accords are mineral, citrus and salty. The top notes are sea salt, mineral notes and citruses. The middle notes are jasmine and coconut. The base note is pine tree.
2. Holy Peony
I bought the Holy Peony after Gris Dior. It has fruity florals scents and it smells charming. When you wear this fragrance, it gives you a statement of a soft yet confident woman. The main accords are rose, floral and fresh. It has sparkling notes of strawberry and raspberry, and woods and musks that give it an amber charm.
1. Gris Dior
This fragrance is the love at first scent for me. I bought the Rouge Dior Minaudiere online last year, so they gave Gris Dior miniature as a gift for me. One drop and I became forever in love with it. It screams elegant, sophisticated and leaves a compelling trail.
