I took psychology when I was at the university. But if I couldn't make it into this field, I would choose interior design as my second option. I love designing home and decorating it. In fact, I will talk more about our home decoration in this post. If you have not read the previous posts about Home, you should check them out first.
We moved in to our new place in 2020. So it has been almost three years of us living together as a husband and wife. I must say it has been a pleasant journey for me. I appreciate the privacy and the freedom of decorating our home. Anyway, I've talked about our home theme and concept before, so if you would like to find out more, click this link.
As for our family area and guest room, alhamdulillah, we have filled the area with furnitures. It took us a year because obviously furnitures are expensive these days. We still have two rooms that are yet to be completed. One of it was supposed to be a home office but we decided to change it to a walk in wardrobe. The other room is a mini prayer room.
Our home concept is basically modern english with minimal wainscoting at every corner of our living area and dining area. For the decoration, I mainly focus on anything gold in colour. If you ask me where did I buy most of our home decor items, the answer is mostly from Shopee and Instagram. If you go to my personal Instagram, go to Shopee highlight and click on it. I shared the links of the items I bought on Shopee under the Shopee highlight.
One thing that I always keep in mind when home decorating is that I make sure the home decoration is minimal and not too much. Heavy decoration could be such a fuss when you want to clean the area, unless you have a maid of course. In our case, we don't have one, so it is a must for me to make sure that I don't get triggered by my own decoration when it comes to home cleaning haha.
Although it looks like our home is ready, we still have a lot to do, especially exteriorly. I've been wanting to add real plants and do the landscape at our backyard, but that won't happen anytime soon since we still have to do our wardrobe. How I wish money grows on trees haha. Nevertheless, I am grateful with what we have now alhamdulillah.
I hope you feel as happy as I am when reading this. If you do, I ask Allah to bless your home. If you are still looking for a house, may Allah ease. Allahumma ameen.
That is all for now, guys. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and will continue to subscribe to my blog. I'm planning to be more active here now inshaAllah. God bless and stay safe, everyone.
Love,
Ieka Ahmad
