Zaid and I just celebrated our 4th anniversary at The Magellan Sutera Resort. I decided to celebrate our anniversary in Sabah, or in Kota Kinabalu to be specific, cause I have to be near the office. My younger sister just had her baby on September, so since she is on maternity leave, I have to take charge of the team.
We checked in the hotel on our wedding anniversary, 21st October, at around 2.00 pm. I organised the staycation but I was surprised myself when the hotel staff told us about our romantic cruise date. I definitely didn't put that on the list so I was very pleased. Thank you, Sutera Harbour team.
I love bathtub. So whenever I organise a staycation for my husband and I, the hotel must have a bathtub haha. It was Zaid's first time staying at The Magellan and he was mesmerised by the beauty of the hotel. Even the view from our hotel room was amazing. It was definitely worth every penny. I shall let the pictures do the talking.
We went down to the jetty at around 5.30 pm because we had to be there before 5.45 pm. I didn't get a chance to change my dress cause the bed was so cozy and I took some time to get up from it and get ready. The management arranged The Puteri Harbour cruise for us. When I said us, it wasn't just the two of us. There were also a few couples that went on that cruise date. One of the couples were also celebrating their 1st anniversary there. The view was astonishing. Seeing the city from our cruise, I couldn't believe myself how beautiful it looked at night.
After that, we went on a romantic dinner at The Ship. As much as I appreciate the fine dining experience, I've always thought that it doesn't satisfy my hungry stomach. But the meals we had that night was so good and satisfying. Started with an entree, then the main course, to the dessert, everything was top notch. We were very full that night.
Back at the hotel room, I was already excited to enjoy the bathtub, and yes, it was really good. The next morning, we had our breakfast and then checked out at around noon. We had such a great time there. I can't even believe we've been married for 4 years now. We have known each other for over a decade but I'm surprised that, that every day, there has to be something new that I've learned about my husband. It's true though you'll never really know a person until you share a bed with them haha.
Alhamdulillah I'm grateful for the bittersweet 4 years of our marriage. May Allah bless this marriage and grant us mawadah, sakinah and rahmah. Allahumma ameen.
Anyway, I hope you had a good time reading this. Please stay safe and take care, everyone.
Love, Ieka Ahmad.
