My husband turned 30 last Sunday and I arranged something special for his birthday this year. Last year we couldn't celebrate his birthday as I had to be in Kota Kinabalu for a friend's wedding. But we had an early birthday celebration for him and my younger sister at Sofia Restaurant Camberwell in Melbourne before flying back to Malaysia.
This year, for dinner, I booked us a table for two at the Thirty8 Restaurant. This fine dining restaurant with captivating views is located on the 38th floor of The Grand Hyatt Hotel. I didn't want us to rush through the traffic so I decided to book us a stay at the hotel too.
The view from our hotel room was superb but I forgot to take pictures. I guess I was really enjoying the moment there haha. When I made the reservation, I told them that I wanted a high floor room and asked them to have a birthday card ready at the room. They were generous, really. I didn't ask for a birthday cake but they had it ready too! Thank you so much Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur for the best hospitality. My husband was really touched.

My husband had no idea that I had another surprise for him that night. I requested a table with roses and Thirty8 Signature Cake. When the waitress brought us to our table, Zaid was really surprised to see our table decorated with roses haha. We had our dinner and talked about the food we had in our room lol. We ordered some pizza earlier and brought a burrito and kebab to our hotel room too. Phew.
When both of us finished our meal, Zaid was ready to head back to the hotel. I pretended like I didn't hear him cause I had another surprise for him haha. He was shocked when our host, Mr. Izhar, sang him a birthday song (he has a very nice voice mashaAllah) while carrying his birthday cake to our table! Oh it was so lovely. My husband looked so happy. We asked Mr. Izhar to take photos of us.
I also bought him a present and I'm glad he loves it. It was a romantic night to be remembered. The next morning we had our breakfast at the same place. The views were even breathtaking in the morning subhanallah. I managed to take a video of the view and you can check it out on my Instagram.
We had a great time alhamdulillah. I'm glad everything went well and I'm really happy to see my husband happy. MashaAllah. I couldn't have done it without the help from The Grand Hyatt staff. They were amazing and lovely. Finally, we checked out at 11.00 am and went to Ikea after that.
To my wonderful husband, happy birthday sayang. Hope you liked the surprises hehe. You are an amazing man and I'm so proud of you. Thank you for loving me and always making sure that everything is enough for me. I love you, sayang.
