I just came back from my hometown recently. It was good to be back, and I was so excited to meet my newborn nephew. We welcomed him last month! My younger sister gave birth to her second child on January 5th. I am officially an aunt of two. Since my younger sister and I are working together in our parents’ company, I have to take over her work until she finishes her maternity leave. Hence, the frequent travel.

During my stay in Kota Kinabalu, I took the chance to spend time with my friends. I was always on the move and I loved it. I went to my friends’ new shops, and café hunting. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to see all of them due to the unforeseen circumstances, but I am going back again next month during Ramadhan inshaAllah. So, there are still chances to meet up. Hopefully.

Anyway, if you are in Kota Kinabalu CBD and looking for a beauty salon, please visit Less Is More at Taman Fortuna. They also have manicure service there which I had the opportunity to experience last Sunday, and it was so satisfying. I have done manicure before, but in my experience, no one has done it as detailed as my friend, Kathy. That is what I love about her. She has so much passion in her that you can see it in her work.

I also went to another shop belongs to my friend, Mariam. If you are a fan of traditional kuih muih, then this place is a must visit. They also have Nasi Lemak, Nasi Kuning, and Pulut Kuning. I went there with Ana, and we really enjoyed the food. It was so good. After that, we went to Locals Only café located at Tanjung Aru. I am a big fan of their Iced Caramel Macchiato. The taste is different than the other Iced Caramel Macchiato I had, it definitely has its own identity.

Manisan Kueh & Desserts located at Lintas.

Believe it or not, I made it my resolution this year to be socially active. To be honest, my social skills are rusty because of work and social anxiety. But I'm tackling it one at a time. I like it when I am physically active. Now that I am back in Kuala Lumpur, I look forward to meeting my friends here. I need to push my fear of being in crowded places aside. Yes, she's that dedicated.

Speaking of fear, I almost finished reading the book that I mentioned in my previous post. It is officially my favourite book this month, and I cannot wait to share more about my personal experience after reading it. So, while I'm working on doing that, feel free to read my recent post and let me know what you think.
